Tzfat is located high in the mountains of Israel. The city has Hasidic communities, synagogues and Jewish educational institutions.
For many years, the Jewish community in Tzfat was the second largest in the country.
Many Jews who left Spain settled in this place more than five hundred years ago.
The city knew periods of economic growth and decline. For some time the city was deserted and dirty.
